I started windsurfing like most people during the summer holidays in Greece. It was my Dad who showed me the first tricks and got me into it. Since then my passion for the sport was growing and growing. 1998 was the time when I first saw freestyle windsurfing at The King Of The Lake with legends like Robby Naish, Jason Polakow and Björn Dunkerbeck. Impressed by what is possible on complete flat water, windsurfing became more and more important and the better I got the more fun it was. For me it was an honour to come back in 2002 and compete at the last Red Bull King of the Lake ever. By now it's just like a drug to see and try new manouvers, push the limits and rip on the water with my friends. After being on Maui several times, it has almost become my second home, the waves and the wind keep me coming back every year. Wavesailing and surfing are the pefect alternative to the lakes and flatwater spots in central Europe. There's nothing better than a masthigh day with 4.7 and your 60liter board... However though freestyle has always been my passion and it will always be; to combine freestyle with wavesailing will be my future goal.
     
For some time now, I'm trying to be creative in video and web design and came up with several video projects that I presented in Innsbruck or got published on different websites. The latest was a shooting for a windsurfing instructional manual for beginners to professionals in Egypt and doing a promotional trailer for it. My time at university (studying law) will also come to an end pretty soon and who knows what will be after...... hopefully surfing and windsurfing in combination with a fullfilling job, a dream or reality?!
